Review checks

Choose what matters

Checks flag entries for investigation; they do not certify accuracy. Statement validation remains mandatory even when review checks are switched off.
THE FOUNDATION

Account mapping

Map your GL to a financial statement line item (FSLI). Review all suggested classifications.

Opening balances must be as at the start of your selected period: debit positive, credit negative. Bring prior profit or loss into retained earnings. Amounts are in the reporting currency.

GL accounts

Mappings can be exported and reused. Opening balances and confirmations are not included in the mapping preset.

FROM LEDGER TO REPORT

Financial statements

Draft management statements with GL detail and cash reconciliation.

Management draft

Cash-flow classification

Classify actual cash entries. Non-cash journals do not appear here.

Use exchange effects only for revaluation of cash. Internal transfers must net to zero. Review suggested or bulk classifications; select categories according to your accounting policy.

Reports cover one entity and one functional currency. No FX conversion, consolidation, statement of changes in equity, comparative-year package or statutory disclosures are generated. These management drafts require professional review. Cash-flow classification reference.

REVIEW RECORD

Saved close summaries

Summary totals are saved only on this device. Ledger rows, notes and financial statements are not retained.

LESS NOISE. BETTER REVIEW.

Built for the final mile of month-end.

CloseSentry brings your ledger, review questions and financial statements into one private workspace.

01 / IMPORT

Start with your general ledger.

Upload an Excel, CSV or TSV ledger, or a closing trial balance. Select its worksheet, header row and data range. Map date, GL code or name, and either debit / credit or signed amount. Date and decimal conventions are explicit.

02 / REVIEW

Choose your checks.

Use the core set or all 27 checks. Add custom amount, account, description or counterparty rules. Filter exceptions, record notes and mark items reviewed.

03 / REPORT

Connect accounts to statements.

Review FSLI suggestions, import your opening trial balance, set the reporting period and classify cash movements. Export profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flows, trial balance and review detail to Excel.

A few useful details.

Is the full workspace free?

All current features are available in this beta without signup or payment checkout.

What is a suitable ledger file?

Use transaction-level CSV with up to 30,000 lines / 12 MB. Include both sides of every journal for balanced statements. Do not upload subtotal rows or a closing trial balance as transaction data. Map journal IDs separately from invoice references.

Why does a statement sometimes stay blocked?

Missing classifications, invalid data, currency mismatches and unbalanced books cannot produce reliable reports. Follow the displayed actions. Reviews can still run while you investigate; statement validation is independent of which checks you select.

Does CloseSentry verify my accounting?

No. It applies explainable rules to the data you supply. Flags can be legitimate entries, and unflagged entries can still be incorrect. It does not inspect invoices, confirm balances or provide audit assurance.

Can I close the tab and resume?

The active ledger, mappings, notes and statements exist in tab memory only. Export your Excel report, exception CSV and mapping preset before closing. Optional history stores summary totals on this device, not a recoverable ledger.
